The Everton Forum • Re: Tim Iroegbunam
He has qualities that are statistically elite.
But he also has been well below average at other aspects... However those have shown clear development in recent months imo, and he's now getting to those average premier league levels most weeks when he plays.
When you watch Gana drifting out wide to support the wingers and naturally dropping in to areas to cover Ndaiye or McNeil when they drift inside it's a level of game understanding Tim doesn't possess... So he still has the edge on him as a player, but given Tim's level of development recently I honestly think if he continues on that trajectory we'll struggle to keep him.
Think he means Garner and I agree.
He's improved a lot this season but in the majority of games, especially at home, he still doesn't do enough for me. Still far too many safe sideways passes.
I think he's better at right back as he doesn't have much choice but to pass forwards there and he can whip a decent ball in.
Do also agree with you on Tim though. Definitely something potentially really good there.
