Harbor Freight just teased the release of its newest set of ICON ratchets this week by naming its next additions to the product line. These new ratchets fill the gaps in the ICON G2 collection and include the following fixed head options:
- 1/4-inch drive 2-5/8 inch stubby ratchet.
- 1/4-inch drive short ratchet
- 1/4-inch drive standard ratchet w/ metal handle
- 1/4-inch drive standard ratchet w/ comfort grip handle
- 3/4-inch drive long ratchet
The stubby options make it easier for those working in tight spaces while the 3/4-inch drive ratchet is useful for those working on larger industrial machinery.

Harbor Freight said these newest additions to its ICON line will be hitting stores soon but hasn’t listed any specific release dates nor has it announced pricing for these new tools. In its announcement, Harbor Freight said it’s also planning to launch an additional 15 more G2 ratchets, all which will be arriving by the summer.

The ICON line of ratchets, particularly the G2 series that debuted in 2025, has developed a cult-like following, with many coveting these tools for their smooth and quiet operation and their low profile head. Most notably, ICON ratchets have a split-pawl design, which is similar to what you’d find on professional mechanics tools offered by such brands as Snap-On but at a fraction of the price. This technology enables them to handle much higher torque loads without stripping.
Harbor Freight has improved its line of ICON tools over the years, adding features like locking flex heads and comfort grips, while also lowering the teeth count to improve strength and durability.
