Former Planned Parenthood Director Urges More Abortion Clinic Workers to Quit
Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood director in Texas who now runs the only ministry in the country, And Then There Were None (ATTWN), dedicated to helping abortion workers quit their jobs and find life-affirming ones, is urging abortion workers to quit their jobs on Friday, March 27th during Exodus 2026, a campaign that has been held the last two years. Due to these Exodus campaigns, more than 60 abortion clinic workers have quit their jobs. Overall, in 2025 the number of “Quitters” increased by 113% over 2024.
“Most people who work in abortion clinics are motivated because they believe they are helping women – but when they start to see how abortion is harming women, the shortcuts clinics take to save money, patients crying in the recovery room, and all the other dirty work that goes on at clinics, they often wonder what they are doing at the facilities,” said Abby Johnson. “These workers need to be seen. They need to be prayed for. They need to be supported so they can take that leap and leave their jobs.”

Many of the abortion workers who have left the industry suffer PTSD, have battled some sort of addiction or substance abuse, and have struggled with suicidal thoughts according to surveys of former abortion workers done by ATTWN. Since 2012, ATTWN has helped more than 750 abortion workers leave their jobs and find hope and healing as well as new jobs.
Exodus 2026 will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026. ATTWN will be working through social media, partners on the sidewalks outside clinics, and direct mailings to get the word out to abortion workers.
“No one grows up wanting to work in an abortion clinic. They want to help women and coming to the realization that their work in the clinic actually harms women can be terrifying,” said Abby Johnson. “But they aren’t alone. When they walk out of those clinics, they will join more than 750 others who have done the same thing and can relate to what they are going through. My message to all abortion workers is to get out and we can help you.”
ATTWN has an experienced resume writer on staff who will help former abortion workers to revamp their resumes and client managers will aid them in finding new jobs, obtaining counseling, and encouraging them to attend healing retreats – all for free.
“It’s not normal to work in an industry that takes innocent lives by the thousands every day or to see what these workers have seen. There are so many other better options for them and we can be that bridge to help them get out,” said Johnson. “The peace they experience and the flood of relief once they leave the clinics are palpable and absolutely in reach for anyone who chooses that path.”
ATTWN was founded by Johnson in 2012 and to date, is the only ministry in the world that focuses on helping former abortion workers.
