Mother sought by police after infant hospitalised in Limassol
Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 35-year-old mother in Limassol on Tuesday as part of an investigation into alleged child assault, following a complaint by the infant’s father.
According to police statements, the father reported that during an argument the woman “shook their infant and threw him on the couch”, leaving the child distressed.
Officers responded immediately, taking the infant to Limassol general hospital for examination, where the child was kept under precautionary observation before being discharged on Monday.
The infant is now in the care of the father, while authorities continue efforts to locate the mother.
Police are also examining further allegations that the woman may have used physical force against the child on previous occasions, as part of the ongoing investigation.
The case is being treated with urgency, with authorities focusing on potential risks to the child and gathering evidence to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
