3 Sides From Ina Garten You Should Make for Easter Dinner This Year

Easter is just around the corner, and if you’re having family and friends over to your house this year, then it’s definitely time to start planning the menu. Alongside the starring ham or lamb, you’ll want a delicious array of sides to keep the meal interesting, and Ina Garten has the perfect line-up of Easter sides that will keep everyone at your table happy.

And these three sides pair so perfectly together, we may have done the hard part of menu planning for you!

Potato-Fennel Gratin

This super savory Potato-Fennel Gratin from Ina Garten starts by you slicing your fennel bulbs and sautéing them until tender in a bit of olive oil and butter. Then, thinly slice your potatoes (you can use a mandolin for this) and place them in a bowl with cream, Gruyère, salt, pepper, and the fennel mixture. Combine everything well and pour the potato mixture into a prepared baking dish, and sprinkle the remaining Gruyère on top. Bake until the potatoes are tender and the sauce is bubbling. This dish will definitely steal the show.

Oven-Roasted Asparagus

Keep your sides simple with this Oven-Roasted Asparagus dish, which literally only requires four ingredients. Garten starts by breaking off the tough ends of the asparagus stalks, and then she peels the stalks, if required. She places the asparagus on a baking sheet and gives them a good coating of olive oil. Garten sprinkles a bit of salt and pepper on them before roasting the asparagus for 25 minutes. How easy is that?

Orange-Braised Carrots & Parsnips

Carrots on Easter just make sense! These Orange-Braised Carrots, paired with parsnips, are first washed, peeled, and cut, and then tossed in a Dutch oven. To the pot, add shallots, orange zest, orange juice, olive oil, thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Bring everything to a boil in the Dutch oven, then transfer to the oven to allow the carrots and parsnips to roast until tender. When they’re done, splash a bit more orange juice over top and serve with a sprinkle of parsley. Delicious!
