Hilary Duff Defends Mom & Former Manager, Says It Was 'Nice' Having Her at Work 'For Better or For Worse'
Hilary Duff is defending her mom and clearing up some misconceptions.
The 38-year-old singer was on Mythical Kitchen for the newest episode and spoke about the challenges of growing up as a child star in Hollywood, particularly one managed by their mother.
For starters, she clarifies that her mom, Susan Duff, “never pushed” her into an acting career.

The new clip is from the Tuesday (March 17) episode, which airs for everyone at 6:00 am ET, but Entertainment Weekly shared a sneak peek.
During a previous interview with Hilary‘s Agent Cody Banks co-star Frankie Muniz, he said that while he and Hilary got along well, he called Susan “the epitome of a stage mom” and claimed she was “super intense,” to the point would get “sad” when she was on set.
Talking about the early days of her career, Hilary shared that “it was really nice” having her mom “in the corner, for better or for worse.”
She continued, “I think there was obviously mistakes made and, like, a learning process, but it’s hard to be like a family up against like a machine.”
With the release of her new album luck… or something, she is opening up more about her complicated family dynamic with her sister Haylie Duff. Hilary‘s song “We Don’t Talk” is about her and she expanded on the song in a recent podcast.
