Eva Longoria Gifted Robin Arzón With The Best Parenting Advice In An Age Of 'Information Overload'

Parents know all too well that in the age of social media and parenting influencers, it can be hard to cut through the noise when deciding what’s best for your kid. Thankfully for Robin Arzón, best friend Eva Longoria gave her the best parenting advice about tuning out the noise before she became a mom.

Arzón, who welcomed a daughter, Athena, in March 2021, followed by a son, Atlas Sage, in July 2023, told SheKnows Editor in Chief Kat Steinberg the parenting advice the Desperate Housewives star told her during a March 15 conversation at the SHE Media Co-Lab at SXSW.

“I’m gonna be totally frank with you,” Arzón said. “The best piece of parenting advice I received was from my friend Eva Longoria. When I was pregnant with Athena, I said, ‘What do you wish you knew before you had Santi?'”

Longoria shares son Santiago Enrique Bastón, 7, with her husband, José Antonio “Pepe” Bastón.

“She said, ‘I wish people told me less.’ And I said, ‘Got it. Please say no more,'” Arzón said. “We’re in information overload and you can go to a parenting account and a podcast, and a book. These resources are hugely additive when you’re searching, especially when it’s something personal… but also, I made it to this age, and I’m gonna trust myself.”

“That is something that I received from what she said,” added the Peloton instructor. “Sometimes you just need to quiet down the noise and rely on the tools that got you to be the grown, fully formed person that you are now.”
