High Five For Darts Girls Who Make It 15 Wins From 15!
Another match, another three points for Darts Girls’ Academy who beat USP Storm comfortably to make it an amazing 15 wins from 15 this season.
The team started brightly and created lots of chances. Isabella Taffs created two chances early on which set the tone for the match.
They scored the first goal after 22 minutes with Olivia Ajose on the scoresheet again. She ran with the ball to the edge of the box, took the shot and put it in the back of the net.
The girls controlled the game from here on in, with USP hardly getting out of their half.
A ball over the top soon made it 2-0, with Isabelle Edgar taking control and rounding the keeper. The third goal came from Ellie Sterling, who opened up and put the ball in from distance.
It was 3-0 at half time and manager George Kingdon opted to use the second half as a training game with the match against Oaklands – who sit second in the league – in mind. They changed the system to how they may set up in the match.
The girls continued to keep the ball well and created a few early chances.
They got their fourth on 71 minutes, with Hannah McLaughin running beyond Olivia Ajose to finish well. Straight from kick-off the team won the ball back and Olivia Ajose took her chance for her second of the game.
George said: “Everyone wants to beat us now, it’s a major compliment to the girls. But the pleasing thing is we are taking it all in our stride, still playing the football and creating lots of chances every game.
“It was good to see the change of system work so well. One slip-up in the league could change things, so we may change the system for the match away to Oaklands in a few weeks.
“But we are in the position now that we can win the league away to the team in second place with a few games to spare, which will be an amazing accomplishment.”
