HUNTR/X seals the Honmoon in real life with Golden Oscar performance
KPop Demon Hunters' HUNTR/X showed the world how it's done, done, done with their Oscars performance of Academy Award-winning hit "Golden."
EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami — who provide the singing voices of HUNTR/X members Rumi (voiced by Arden Cho), Mira (voiced by May Hong), and Zoey (voiced by Ji-young Yoo) — took to the Oscars stage in commanding fashion. The performance recreated KPop Demon Hunters' prologue onstage before jumping into a high-energy concert filled with spinning golden flags and those killer high notes.
Plus, HUNTR/X had a little help from the audience, who were holding light sticks that filled the Dolby Theater with — what else? — golden light. While the Oscars performance tragically cut a good chunk of "Golden," at least it gave us Leonardo DiCaprio with a light stick, right?
The "Golden" performance is further proof of HUNTR/X's world domination. "Golden" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making HUNTR/X the first K-pop girl group to achieve the feat. The song also took home the Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media and picked up four additional nominations, including Song of the Year.
Earlier in the evening, KPop Demon Hunters won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. "Golden" also dominated this awards season, winning the Critics' Choice Award, Golden Globe for Best Original Song, and the Oscar for Best Original Song.
