Conan O’Brien referenced Timothee Chalamet‘s major backlash during his opening monologue at the 2026 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 15) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
If you didn’t see, Timothée has been facing some controversy for his thoughts on opera and ballet when he said that “no one cares” about them anymore.
“Security is very tight tonight, there’s concerns about attacks from the ballet & opera communities,” he said, before adding, “They’re just mad you didn’t mention jazz.”
