Tottenham player ratings vs Liverpool as 8/10 duo spark life into relegation fight

Tottenham Hotspur have ended their run of Premier League defeats by earning a rare point at Anfield, and fans will hope it kickstarts a gritty relegation fight. Let’s take a look at our Tottenham 1-1 Liverpool player ratings.

Guglielmo Vicario – 3 – Made a couple of smart stops throughout the game, but he let Tottenham down massively when he could only get a weak hand to Dominik Szoboszlai’s free-kick. It was pretty much down the middle of the goal!

Pedro Porro – 5 – Defensively, he struggled against the young Rio Ngumoha all game long. Going the other way, he at least offered a few decent crosses into the box, but not his usual standard.

Kevin Danso – 8 – A performance worthy of a clean sheet. Danso won his aerial duels, blocked some dangerous shots, and covered the space in behind so well in the closing stages. Deserved more.

Radu Dragusin – 4 – Not good enough on or off the ball. Looks lost when he is made to run back towards his own goal and gave the ball away far too often. Has the characteristics to thrive in a backs-to-the-wall relegation scrap, but needs to show more.

Djed Spence – 8 – Barely lost a single duel against Frimpong. Had more trouble against Salah after he came on, but Spence was a real asset for Tottenham at both ends of the pitch. Seemed strange to sub him off early.

Souza – 6 – Tottenham’s new 18-year-old left-back playing right-wing away at Anfield. Who had that on their 2026 bingo card? He started brightly with a swerving shot that troubled Allisson. Did a lot of good defensive work to double up on Rio.

Archie Gray – 7 – Give this lad the armband next season, regardless of what league Tottenham are in. Good game or bad game, he gives everything, which is the bare minimum required in a relegation scrap. A team full of Archie Grays gets out of this predicament on willpower alone.

Pape Sarr – 6 – Doesn’t seem to thrive in a two-man midfield. He is at his best when he has the freedom to press high and use his limitless engine. Not quite technical enough (yet) to stand out in a 2v2 battle, but you can’t fault his effort.

Mathys Tel – 7 – Tottenham don’t have enough attackers like Tel. No matter what form he is in, he will always take his man on. Spurs struggle to create chances, but things always look a little brighter and more positive with the Frenchman on the pitch.

Dominic Solanke – 7 – Spurs have missed him so much. It wasn’t so much his goals today, but his ability to win headers, trap the ball, and bring others into play. It’s the difference between getting hemmed in and actually fighting your way up the pitch. Deserves a lot of credit.

Richarlison – 8 – For 89 minutes, it looked like a frustrating performance from Richy. He put everything on the line and carved out four good goal-scoring chances, but couldn’t quite convert. Yet he turned up when Spurs needed him most and continued his fine Anfield record. Just how important could that tap-in be?

Substitutes:

Xavi Simons – 7 – He took a while to grow into the game, but Simons thrived in that pocket between midfield and attack in the closing stages as Spurs pushed for a win. Really helped to control the game and pin Liverpool back.

Randal Kolo Muani – 7 – I have questioned his work ethic in recent weeks, as a loan player who will not be impacted by relegation. However, today, he proved me wrong. Worked his socks off and created the equaliser through sheer strength and determination.

Callum Olusesi – 7 – A Premier League debut to celebrate. Tottenham have not used their youth enough to ease the injury strain this season, and Olusesi is a perfect example of that. He added so much positive energy into that midfield for the closing stages.

James Rowswell – N/A – Another debut for an academy starlet.
