Pensioners are having ’67’ scrawled on their cars – and they have no idea why
Angry locals have slammed school kids who have ‘made a game’ of scratching 67 into dozens of cars on their street.
Residents in Worcester have been left hundreds of pounds out of pocket after finding the two numbers scrawled across car doors and bonnets.
The nonsensical ‘six seven’ craze has become the latest trend and was recently made word of the year.
But it has left locals fuming after their vehicles were vandalised outside their homes.
Over the past three weeks, dozens of cars parked on Sebright Avenue and Arundel Drive have been targeted.
Pensioners Mark and Heather Stewart, both 69, found a ‘6-7’ scratched into the side of their car last week.
Mark said: ‘There have been dozens of vehicles targeted. It happened at least ten times in one week. Residents are angry. It’s mindless vandalism to nobody’s benefit.
‘It’s going to cost people a lot of money to get it repaired.’
Another resident said, ‘We think it’s a group of kids who think it’s a game to see how many cars they can scratch in one go.
‘I wouldn’t be surprised to see videos appearing on TikTok showing the little hoodlums laughing like hyenas while making our lives a misery.’
That resident added: ‘I have kids, and I know all about the 6-7 craze, it’s nothing new, every generation has something like this.
‘My issue is when it goes beyond a bit of fun and becomes an excuse for anti-social behaviour.’

One of the residents made a poster, and local schools have been informed, so the community hopes the issue will subside.
Another local added: ‘We would hope we won’t need security cameras and all the rest of it. I think some people have got Ring Doorbells.
‘It’s a really supportive community. We are trying to take action ourselves.’
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: ‘A criminal damage incident was reported to us around 11.15 am on March 5 after a car was damaged on Sebright Avenue.
‘The incident is now waiting allocation for further enquiries.’
