Epstein ‘provided illegal medication and Botox to Peter Mandelson’
Emails between Jeffrey Epstein and Peter Mandelson appear to suggest the sex offender supplied illegal drugs to the Labour grandee after his conviction.
Messages show the two men discussing the use of anti-anxiety pill Xanax, with Mandelson relying on his disgraced friend for medical advice, according to the Mail on Sunday.
In the UK, Xanax is a Class C controlled substance, making it illegal to buy or supply. It is also controlled in the US due to the risk of addiction.
Files released by the US Department of Justice include emails where Mandelson and Epstein discuss ‘triangles’ – understood to be a nickname for Xanax due to their shape.
One exchange shows Epstein asking Mandelson: ‘feeling bettter [sic]?’
Mandelson, who was then serving in government as the UK’s business secretary, responds by asking: ‘How will I get more triangles ?!’

The financier later replies: ‘london when?’
At the time the emails were sent in December 2009, Epstein was under house arrest following his release from prison. He had served 13 months of an 18-month sentence for procuring an underage girl for prostitution.
In one other email, Mandelson asks for ‘more niaspan’, a prescription drug which tackles levels of cholesterol.
He then adds: ‘And triangles are all very well but you need someone to use them on…’
The late Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre has previously spoken about being given Xanax by the sex offender’s recommended doctors.
In 2019, she told the Miami Herald: ‘What doctor in their right mind, who is supposed to protect their patients, gives girls and young women Xanax?’
Elsewhere in the files, the two men appear to discuss organising a cosmetic procedure for Mandelson ahead of the then-minister’s official trip to New York.
Epstein writes: ‘right now i am planning to see you on the eve of the 2nd..do you need me on the third?’
Mandelson responds: ‘Always need you…have an official dinner on 3rd then fly back. What about the injections??’
The sex offender suggests ‘face and neck’ on a Wednesday, before Mandelson provides times when he is free and asks: ‘Do you think I should ??’
Epstein replies: ‘botox first step.’
The files do not reveal the precise role Epstein played in setting up the alleged procedures.
Mandelson’s links with the paedophile have returned to headlines in recent days, with the government releasing its own batch of files relating to the decision to appoint him as British ambassador to the US.
A new image has also emerged, showing for the first time Mandelson, Epstein and former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor sitting together.
Lawyers for Peter Mandelson have been contacted for comment.
