Iran says receiving military cooperation from Russia and China amid war with US and Israel
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi says Russia and China are providing military cooperation to Iran as conflict with the United States and Israel escalates.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi says Tehran maintains close political, economic and military cooperation with both Russia and China, describing the two countries as strategic partners. Speaking to media, Araghchi emphasized that cooperation between the three nations extends across multiple sectors, including defense.
According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Sunday, Araghchi made the remarks while responding to questions about whether Moscow or Beijing could provide intelligence or military support if Iran targets US facilities in the region. He declined to provide further details but reiterated that Tehran maintains “good cooperation” with both countries in political, economic and even military fields.
The Iranian foreign minister also criticized recent US attacks on Kharg Island, claiming the strikes were launched from neighboring countries’ territory and describing them as unacceptable. The island is Iran’s main oil export hub and a crucial part of the country’s energy infrastructure.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said the United States had destroyed military targets on Kharg Island and warned Tehran against disrupting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. He also threatened additional strikes on Iran’s oil facilities if Iranian forces continued to interfere with maritime traffic in the region.
Tensions have escalated sharply in recent weeks as confrontations between Iran, Israel and the United States intensify across the Middle East. Military exchanges and proxy attacks have raised fears of a wider regional conflict, with reports of growing casualties and damage to critical infrastructure on multiple sides.
The developments come as Iran continues to strengthen diplomatic and strategic partnerships with Russia and China, seeking to counter Western pressure and sanctions.
