Oscar-Nominated Actress Elle Fanning Reveals Why She Secretly Made an OnlyFans Account

Elle Fanning, Oscar-nominated actress for Sentimental Value, has an OnlyFans account, but it’s not what you think!
While speaking with People at the SXSW Film & TV Festival, Fanning revealed she created an account to get into her character for Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
“Obviously, I am an Instagram user and a TikTok user. I got to look at that,” Fanning said. “Also, we had to dive into OnlyFans a little bit. We did create an account for the writer’s room, and for me, so I could check out how the website is.”
“There was a lot of looking at OnlyFans with the writers, but we all gave consent to each other before we did it,” she added. “We were very responsible and we just tried to get as much information as we could before we started.”

While many celebrities like Carmen Electra and Lily Allen have created OnlyFans accounts as a source of income, it seems Fanning created one solely for research purposes for her role as Margot Millet. (OnlyFans is an online content subscription service, often linked to NSFW material.)
Margo’s Got Money Troubles is an upcoming eight-episode series based on Rufi Thorpe’s bestselling 2024 novel that follows our leading lady, Margo, facing financial difficulties after dropping out of college to raise her new baby. Along with Fanning, it stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, and Nick Offerman.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles premieres April 15, 2026, on Apple TV.
