Nicosia’s famous book bazaar to help strays returns

One of Nicosia’s biggest book bazaars makes its comeback this weekend, and, as always, all profits raised from the sales will be donated to a good cause.

The Buy a Book – Save a Stray bazaar this March 14 and 15, is organised by P.A.W.S. (Protecting Animals Without Shelter) in cooperation with Yfantourgeio, to raise funds for the animal organisation.

This weekend, the downtown booklover’s venue, Yfantourgeio, will fill with hundreds of new and second-hand books, sold at very low prices, starting from €1 to €5.

Books in several languages and genres will be on offer, while the money raised will go towards financially supporting P.A.W.S. and the medical and other expenses it covers in its work of helping stray animals.

If you want to donate a book to the charity bazaar, the organisers are accepting donations (99-769011). Otherwise, head to the old town this weekend for a browse and a cup of coffee.
