Speaker Suleman Hails Faizan Global Relief Foundation for Supporting Vulnerable Communities
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Sameer Suleman, has praised Faizan Global Relief Foundation (FGRF) for its humanitarian work, saying the organization is making a meaningful contribution to supporting vulnerable communities across Malawi.
Suleman made the remarks at Faries Ground in BCA, Blantyre, where FGRF distributed food items to 1,500 vulnerable families as part of its ongoing Ramadan relief program.
He commended the foundation for helping Muslim families observe their fasts with ease by providing food for iftar and suhoor, describing the initiative as an important service to the community.
Suleman, who is also the Member of Parliament for Chigumula, BCA, Club Banana Constituency, noted that urban poverty remains a major concern due to congestion and the high cost of living.
Director of Communications and Public Relations for FGRF, Ibrahim Omar, said the organization’s mission goes beyond food distribution, emphasizing its broader goal of transforming lives in communities.
Omar said since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, FGRF has reached more than 21,000 vulnerable families across Malawi with food assistance.
One of the beneficiaries, Elizabeth Simon from Chiswe Village in Blantyre, expressed gratitude for the support, noting that food shortages remain a major challenge in her community.
Faizan Global Relief Foundation is an international humanitarian NGO operating in several countries, providing food aid, disaster relief, healthcare support and welfare programs.
In Malawi alone, the organization has supported over 21,500 households this Ramadan, benefiting more than 85,000 individuals.
Over the past five years, hundreds of thousands of people in Malawi have benefited from FGRF’s humanitarian initiatives.
The organization works through a large network of volunteers and collaborates with local communities and government authorities to deliver its programs.
FGRF has also received international recognition in the United Kingdom, including the Great British Care Award for its humanitarian and community service efforts.
