Dems flip deep red Trump district in New Hampshire
Democrat Bobbi Boudman won a stunning upset in a New Hampshire state house special election in a rural district Trump carried by double digits 16 months earlier.
Boudman defeated Republican Dale Fincher 52-48 in Carroll County near the Maine border in her third attempt for the seat.
The victory represents part of a broader Democratic surge, with the party flipping 28 state legislative seats since Trump's return to the White House, according to the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee.
Boudman's campaign focused on affordability, education, and fiscal responsibility, issues where Trump's approval has collapsed. This Democratic win meets Republicans at a time when 48 percent or Americans believe the President's policies harm the economy.
Committee president Heather Williams stated the wins demonstrate "undeniable story of Democratic momentum as voters reject Republicans and blame them for soaring costs."
Remarkably, Boudman won with just $12,000 in spending versus Fincher's $55,000 budget.
