Abortion Pills Kill Babies and Hurt Women, Take Them Off the Market
This week, U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley, a Republican from Missouri, introduced the Safeguarding Women from Chemical Abortion Act, calling for the FDA to withdraw its approval of the deadly chemical abortion drug mifepristone, and setting up a path for mothers harmed by the drug to sue the manufacturers.
This is an important bill because the dangerous drug is virtually unregulated – thanks to Joe Biden – and available to anyone with an internet connection and a mailing address. No doctors’ visits for evaluation or followup are required. And every week, it seems, we read about mothers whose precious babies have been killed in the womb by heartless fathers who ordered pills online and slipped them to their partners unaware. Imagine how many times this happens but we don’t find out about it.
The FDA’s approval of mifepristone in 2000, during the administration of Bill Clinton, was unusual. It was given the green light through a provision known as Subpart H, which allows the agency to approve drugs that treat life-threatening conditions or fill an unmet medical need faster than the traditional approval route.

Pregnancy was apparently the “life-threatening” condition, and killing children in the womb without a surgical abortion was the “unmet need.” The drug was approved based on abortion politics, not science.
Sen. Hawley’s bill would revoke this approval, thereby banning the drug for use in abortion. In allowing women to sue for damages, the bill includes harm to a woman’s physical and mental health. Women from Silent No More tell us that beyond the excruciating pain and the hours – and sometimes days, and even months – of bleeding, it’s the emotional trauma of turning their homes into abortion mills and seeing the tiny bodies of their babies that they can’t get over.
We need to stop this use of mifepristone. Will you join in this effort?

Please make these calls today, and as always, my heartfelt thanks for your willingness to help this life-saving effort.
