Iranian Media Says Khamenei’s Wife Alive After Earlier Death Reports
Iranian media has reported that the wife of former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei is alive despite earlier reports claiming she had died following recent attacks in Iran.
The Fars News Agency said that Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh is alive and that initial reports about her death were incorrect.
Earlier reports from Iranian outlets had suggested that she died from injuries sustained during attacks linked to the United States and Israel operations targeting Iranian leadership.
In a message released on Thursday night, Mojtaba Khamenei, described as Iran’s new leader, confirmed the deaths of his father, his wife, his sister, a nephew and a brother-in-law in the attacks, but did not mention his mother.
The reported deaths came after major strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against Iranian targets, which Iranian authorities say killed several members of the country’s leadership circle.
The attacks have significantly escalated tensions in the Middle East, raising concerns about a broader conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
Meanwhile, regional instability has intensified after an Iran-aligned militia group in Iraq claimed responsibility for bringing down a US military refueling aircraft during the ongoing confrontation.
The situation highlights the rapidly evolving crisis in the region, where military exchanges, political uncertainty and conflicting reports continue to shape developments in Iran and across the Middle East.
