$250,000 Zousain Colts Tops Magic Millions Gold Coast March
Riding a winning wave on the track this season, Zousain sired the sale-topper at the Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale on Friday when his colt from So Cait sold for $250,000.
Leading Gold Coast trainer Adam Campton teamed up with Stable 23 to secure the colt, who was offered through the Robyn Wise draft.
Bred by former legendary jockey Scott Seamer, the colt is the third foal of an unraced Smart Missile half sister to last season’s multiple stakes winning juvenile Shining Smile.
“I knew we had to be pretty strong,” Campton said. “Thankfully a great client across in Hong Kong was able to support us and we got the job done.
“I’m not sure how much was left in the juice – we had to squeeze a bit out.
“Every time we got him out he had swagger about him. He had a beautiful walk. I love the Zousains – I’ve got a number of them and a heap have gone to Hong Kong already.
“He just knows he’s a good horse. A nice horse from a good farm with Robyn Wise. She knows her horses from top to bottom and you want to buy good horses off good people.
“I love buying from Magic Millions. Barry and his team do a terrific job. They’ve been very supportive of me since I came back from Hong Kong and started training.”
Zousain was the leading sire at the sale by average with six yearlings selling at an average $81,833.
