Tennessee Tech hires former FDU head coach Tobin Anderson
By JAMES MADDEN
Tennessee Tech is expected to hire former Fairleigh Dickinson and Iona head coach Tobin Anderson, according to multiple reports. Anderson is most well-known for this tenure at Fairleigh Dickinson, when the Knights became the second No. 16 seed to upset a No. 1 seen when his squad beat Purdue in 2022.
A longtime Division II coach, Anderson spent just one season at Fairleigh Dickinson before being hired as the Iona head coach and spending two seasons in New Rochelle. Anderson went 33-34 at Iona and 54-50 overall at the Division I level.
He was fired by the Gaels on March 17, 2025 after two seasons.
Anderson has spent this season as the associate head coach under Bryan Hodgson at South Florida, who won the regular season title in the AAC this season.
Just four years after becoming one of the top stories in college basketball, he’ll have a chance to reshape another low-major program at Tennessee Tech.
