Two seriously injured in work accident in Paralimni
Two workers were seriously injured after they fell off a two-metre-high scaffolding in Paralimni, police said on Friday.
“Two people aged 64 and 56, while they were on scaffolding approximately two metres high gave way, causing them to fall to the ground and be injured,” the police said.
According to the police, the incident occurred at a construction site in Paralimni at noon on Thursday, when the two fell off the scaffolding, suffering serious head injuries and multiple fractures.
“The 64-year-old was transferred to the Nicosia general hospital in the neurosurgery department and the 56-year-old was detained for further treatment in the intensive care unit of the Famagusta general hospital,” the police said.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
