Jeff Probst Says There's One Celebrity He Dreams of Having on 'Survivor'
After hosting the hit reality competition for more than two decades, Jeff Probst has watched hundreds of contestants on Survivor. And after 50 seasons of players attempting to outwit, outplay and outlast each one another, there's one celebrity Probst thinks would thrive if they ever decided to compete.
Jeff's pick? Adam Scott.
The longtime host spoke to E! News during PaleyLive’s: The Tribe Has Spoken in New York City on March 10, where he revealed his pick. He's actually good friends with the Severance star, who just so happens to be a huge fan of the show.
“We text a lot about the show," he told the outlet. "He's so clever.”
Scott isn’t just a casual viewer, showing off his fandom by attending live finale events in the past, including the finales for Survivor seasons 22 and 35.
Even though the show has never produced a full celebrity edition, Probst explained that he believes Scott could excel if he ever stepped onto the beaches of Fiji for the game.
“I know he’s got a big career, but I would love to watch him play because I think he’d do really well," he said.
Why Survivor 50 Is a Big Deal
The celeb shoutout from Probst comes as excitement builds around Season 50, a milestone installment for the reality juggernaut that premiered in 2000. Survivor has become one of the longest-running unscripted series on television, famous for its evolving gameplay and dramatic strategic twists that change with every season
Survivor 50 is being treated as a major celebration of the franchise, bringing together a lineup of returning players from across different eras of the show. Many fans consider it a “legends-style” season, with familiar faces returning to the beaches of Fiji to prove who still has what it takes to win.
With the stakes higher than ever, it’s the kind of environment where strategic thinkers and social masterminds can shine — which may be why Probst thinks Adam Scott could fit right in.
Other Survivor Stars Weigh in on Celebrity Castaways
Probst isn’t the only member of the Survivor family imagining what a celebrity version of the game might look like.
Fellow Survivor contestant Cirie Fields, who appears in Season 50, has a Hollywood pick of her own: Dakota Fanning.
“I think she would pull it off,” the winner of The Traitors season one told E!. “I think she would kill it. She would make it to the end—and me and her could align anytime.”
Fellow castaway Rizo Velovic also had an answer ready right away, saying: “John Cena needs to be on Survivor.”
Former winner Kyle Fraser, who was medically evacuated from the island this season after suffering an Achilles tendon injury, believes hip-hop icon André 3000 would be an amazing addition to the cast.
“He’s incredibly thoughtful,” the season 48 winner explained to the outlet, “and I think he would be sneaky good at the game and super creative too!”
