Re: grassroots football
Blyth Spartans were in the Northern Premier League when we played them in the cup, and they've bounced around there and the Conference North for decades now, so it's clearly their level.
Also I've never heard of West Allotment Celtic, but I just looked on their site and they made a news post yesterday stating that they aren't folding.
I think non-league is doing fine. I've been following Hashtag United for years now on YouTube watching their climb up the leagues, and while that is only one club it is completely on the owners of clubs not to spend more than they can afford. Most owners of non-league clubs run the club at a loss in order to play in a higher division that they usually could and then offset the losses themselves, which is obviously going to cause problems when the money dries up and they can't afford to keep propping the club up anymore. I think it is a shame that non-league clubs often have to spend so much money on facilities just to go up a division if they finish in a promotion spot, but ultimately that is to the clubs and leagues to band together and go to the FA and ask for change.
