I Visit Disney World Every Month & These Are the Most Supportive Sneakers for Walking 10+ Miles at the Parks

As a Florida local, I go to Disney World several times per week. If you’ve been to the theme parks before, then you know that it involves a lot of walking around and standing — I clock between six to 10 miles on most days which is a lot, especially in the extreme heat. That said, I’ve been on a mission to find the best shoes for Disney World and I’ve finally found a few that I can’t live without.

For me, the perfect theme park shoes are those that are comfortable and supportive. Would it be nice if they were fashion forward to wear with my athletic dresses? Of course, however, the reality is that most sneakers are a bit bulky and that’s okay. Trust me, you’re not at Disney World to put on a fashion show (although you can if you want to) but to enjoy yourself and if your feet are hurting it will detract from the experience — take it from someone who used to go to the parks in flip-flops. 

After putting numerous sneakers to the test over the last four years, I have a list of the best shoes for Disney World that will elevate your next vacation a tenfold. And yes, the fun runDisney x Brooks shoes are on this list. 

My Review: I own the Chip ‘n Dale Ghost 17 sneakers and they aren’t only adorable, but also supportive with an ultra cushioned heel and balanced support. They are super lightweight, giving them a “barely-there” feel which works well when walking around the parks, plus you can’t go wrong with a fun character shoe when visiting Disney World. The toe bed might feel a bit narrow at first, however, you’ll want to give them a few days to break in. I suggest wearing them at home before whipping them out on vacation to ensure all day comfort and wear. Last but not least, they are a bit pricey at $170, however, you truly won’t find pairs like this anywhere else on the market.

My Review: I wore these during a visit to Epcot during the Festival of the Arts and my legs felt amazing all day long. I loved how they put a little bounce in my step to propel me forward as I walked around the parks thanks to its Active Foot Frame. It’s worth noting there are reflective details built into these shoes making them good for low light conditions whether that’s at Disney World or for a late-night run in your neighborhood at home. These shoes are $155 which is a bit expensive, but your feet will thank you on your next vacation with these — trust me.

My Review: These sneakers are similar in price point to the HOKA’s and are a popular name brand which heightens the appeal. I’d recommend them for first time visitors who are in the market for a reliable sneaker that is highly breathable and supportive.

My Review: I was pleasantly surprised with this because in the past I’ve still had to bend down to get my feet comfortably positioned inside of slip-in shoes but this was not the case with these. Aside from that, the interior memory foam was so soft and plush while still remaining supportive. I didn’t get that throbbing heel pain that I sometimes get when the foam is too squishy giving it some extra brownie points. 

In terms of price point, these sneakers are more affordable clocking in at $88. I’d recommend these to those who are keen on prioritizing accessibility and comfort on their vacation. They are available in sizes 5 to 13 and in nine colors.

My Review: Personally, I prefer a bit more foam in the sole, however, I didn’t experience pain when wearing these — that is just my preference. My favorite feature of these shoes are the tread outsoles which provide grip and stability on nearly any surface. I felt confident when walking around the parks all day and even on those random uneven surfaces. 

They are available in women’s sizes 5.5 to 12 and in six colors from white to raspberry so you can find one that best suits your style.

My Review: I’ve been a fan of New Balance since I was a child and my love for the brand has grown stronger as I’ve grown older. I love the quality of the shoes and I’d be lying if I said the price point wasn’t impressive. 

They are available in women’s sizes 5 to 12 and men’s sizes 7 to 15 and in four colors from white to taupe. 

My Review: I found most of the support in these shoes to help eliminate pain from the ball of my feet which I experience pretty often especially when standing still for long periods of time. These sneakers are available in sizes 5 to 12 and in medium width. 

My Review: This tennis and soccer shoe hybrid is covered in soft velvet and has delicate ballet laces for a whimsical finish. The hot pink color is stunning and definitely makes a statement which is what you want on vacation too. I wouldn’t wait in super long lines in these sneakers but instead have them in your back pocket to change into when the time arises. Make sure to keep an eye on the weather when wearing these because if they do get wet, they will take a long time to try which I learned the hard way. 

These sneakers are available in women’s sizes 6 to 12 and in multiple colors and materials from velvet to suede.

My Review: In a similar vein to Birdies, these leather sneakers are more fashionable sneakers, however, I find them to be best suited for those shorter park days that are under four hours. They are made with a full-grain leather upper and a sculpted sole that runs from the heel to toe. I found these sneakers to be quite comfortable and they exceeded my expectations for a fashion sneaker. I wore these to a reservation at Le Cellier which is a fancy steakhouse and felt like they were dressy enough to blend in without having to pack an extra pair of flats. 

My Review: The key to the comfort rests in the plush EVA midsole and geometric outsole that provides sturdy traction which is helpful when talking around the parks all day. They are a bit bulky so they aren’t too fashionable, however, they are highly functional. These shoes are available in sizes 7.5 to 11.
