Shooter Dead After Attack on Temple Isreal Michigan Synagogue
The suspect behind a vehicle ramming and shooting attack at Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan is now dead two senior law enforcement officials briefed on the incident told NBC News.
The attack unfolded Thursday afternoon when a suspect drove a vehicle into the synagogue and opened fire. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed agents were on scene responding to what he called an "apparent vehicle ramming and active shooter situation." Authorities say no one other than the suspect has been confirmed hurt in the incident.

All children at the temple's preschool were safely evacuated from the building. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said investigators are actively looking into the potential motive and whether anyone else was involved.
President Trump has been briefed on the situation, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed to reporters Thursday afternoon.

Temple Israel is one of the largest Reform Jewish congregations in the United States, with approximately 12,000 members across 3,500 families. The synagogue, located roughly 40 miles northwest of downtown Detroit, also operates a preschool on its grounds.
Bloomfield Hills schools remain in secure mode as a precaution, though police say there are no known threats to the schools. Michigan State Police have increased patrols at other places of worship across the district.
