JUST IN: Falsely Accused GOP Electors Fight Back!—File Charges Against Michigan’s Unhinged Democrat Attorney General Dana Nessel Over Lawfare Case
Michigan’s falsely accused Republican electors, whose names were dragged through the mud for almost 5 years by a relentless media loyal to the Democrat Party, are fighting back! The mostly senior citizen group of 16 electors, who cast an alternate slate of electoral votes for President Trump, following the state’s most controversial election, were charged with 8 felonies each by Michigan’s lawless Attorney General Dana Nessel. Unfortunately, instead of respecting the law, Dana Nessel, the state’s top law enforcement officer, has made quite a reputation for herself for misusing her elected position to punish her political enemies.
Today, in a stinging rebuke to all Democrats in positions of power that rely on politically motivated judges to enact lawfare against their political enemies, Michigan’s 2020 alternate electors—patriots who stood up to certify what they believed was the rightful winner amid widespread concerns over 2020 irregularities—have declared their intent to turn the tables on far-left Attorney General Dana Nessel.
After Nessel waved the white flag last week by refusing to appeal the district court’s decisive dismissal of her politically motivated felony charges against them, the electors announced plans to sue Nessel, her department, and involved officials for malicious prosecution and abuse of power.
Meshawn Maddock, one of the victorious defendants, rightly called out Nessel as “perhaps the worst lawyer in the USA” for dodging a second humiliating loss while still clinging to her baseless narrative of culpability. Adding insult to injury, Nessel squandered taxpayer dollars on a self-serving 110-page report whining that the judge got it wrong—classic sore-loser behavior from a Democrat AG more interested in targeting conservatives than upholding justice. The electors’ case, led by aggressive counsel from Mohrman, Kaardal & Erickson, promises to hold government tyrants like Dana Nessel accountable when they weaponize their offices against everyday citizens fighting for fair elections, sending a clear message that such vindictive tactics will no longer go unchallenged.
On September 9, 2025, a very brave Whitmer-appointed Judge Kristen D. Simmons followed the law and dismissed all false charges against 15 (mostly senior citizen) 2020 Republican electors, filed by the state’s highly partisan Democrat Attorney General, Dana Nessel.
The 8 felony charges against the 15 electors would have carried life sentences for most of them:
COUNT 1: CONSPIRACY- TO COMMIT FORGERY- FELONY: 14 Years and/or $10,000.00 fine.
COUNT 2: FORGERY – FELONY: 14 Years
COUNT 3: FORGERY – FELONY: 14 Years
COUNT 4: CONSPIRACY- TO COMMIT UTTERING AND PUBLISHING – FELONY: 14 Years and/or $10,000.00 fine.
COUNT 5: UTTERING AND PUBLISHING – FELONY: 14 Years
COUNT 6: CONSPIRACY- TO COMMIT ELECTION LAW FORGERY – FELONY: 5 Years and/or $10,000.00 fine
COUNT 7: ELECTION LAW – FORGERY – FELONY: 5 Years and/or $1,000.00 fine.
COUNT 8: ELECTION LAW – FORGERY – FELONY: 5 Years and/or $1,000.00 fine.
MI AG Dana Nessel Told A Far-Left Group That If The Electors Case Went To Trial, They Would Not Get a Favorable Jury Pool
Recently, The Gatway Pundit shared a stunning video that showed MI AG Dana Nessel on a Zoom call with a far-left group, bragging about how, if the judge (Kristin Simmins) decides to send the alternate electors case to a jury trial, she’s set them up to be tried in the deep blue city of Lansing, MI, where it’s very likely they won’t get a fair jury trial. In other words, Michigan’s top law enforcement officer is mocking these 15 mostly senior citizens who are entitled to a fair trial but are unable to receive one.
Michigan’s partisan hack AG Dana Nessel explains to far-left group how difficult it is to get the Republican 2020 alternate electors to flip on each other because “they legit believe” Donald Trump won the 2020 election.

During the testimony, the judge referred to the Republicans’ electoral votes as an “alternate” slate. The judge read the charges aloud to the court and reminded the court that the attorney general’s office needed to prove that the electors attempted to present a counterfeit or fraudulent document, calling them both “specific intent crimes.” The court examined the statutes and found that the prosecution failed to sufficiently prove its case.
Judge Simmons addressed the “Conspiracy to commit forgery” charges, stating that the prosecution would have to prove that the electors intended to defraud the government with the documents, which they could not do.
Judge Simmins openly admonished AG Dana Nessel for accusing her of delaying the trial, reminding her that she had to hold two separate trials due to the size of the defendant pool and the significant amount of testimony from the electors.
The judge also mentioned GOP Elector James Renner, who was granted immunity by the Attorney General’s office for helping prosecutors convict his fellow electors. Judge Simmons explained how Mr. Renner’s testimony actually helped the electors: “At the meeting, there was no intent to defraud anyone,” adding that the former Michigan State Police employee admitted he “would not have even attended the meeting if he thought there was going to be a crime committed!”
Judge Simmons reminded the court that the electors posed for a photo in the basement of the Republican Party headquarters in Lansing, where the alternate electors allegedly signed the documents. People who are committing a crime don’t pose for a photo, the judge said, adding “that would be weird!”
Agent Howard Shock, Attorney General Nessel’s only investigator on the case, turned out to be a disaster for her bogus case against the electors. On several occasions during his testimony, Judge Simmons was seen shaking her head and rolling her eyes at his incompetence. The judge said, “This is a fraud case, and I don’t believe there is enough evidence to prove it.” Agent Shock told the court there was no real distinction between James Renner and the other electors, as they were all doing their civic duty.”
“I believe they were exercising their constitutional rights to seek redress, and that’s based on the statements of all of the people’s witnesses. And for those reasons, these cases will not be bound over to the circuit court, and this case will be dismissed,” the judge proclaimed, which, in an age of far-left judicial activism, stunned the courtroom and left Michigan’s partisan-hack attorney general with a decision to make about how to proceed in her never-ending quest to use her elected position to punish her political enemies.
Sadly, U.S. Veteran John Haggard, one of the falsely accused electors who lived literally only moments after charges were dismissed against him, will not be able to participate in the lawsuit against Michigan’s dirty attorney general.
