Tottenham supporters need Pedro Porro to back up his 'I am a Spurs fan' comments
Pedro Porro has opened up on the difficult moment Tottenham Hotspur supporters are enduring this season, admitting he understands the frustration from the stands.
Many Tottenham Hotspur fans in the modern era do not know what it is like to be in a relegation scrap, as they have spent the last half-century being a top-flight constant.
However, this season Spurs are at risk of losing their Premier League status as they sit just a single point above the drop zone.
The club is yet to win a game in 2026 and has managed just two wins in their last 20 outings in the league, making them the most out-of-form side in the division at the moment.
With their relegation rivals in much better form, and Tottenham struggling badly, the situation has become increasingly concerning.
Pedro Porro sends message to Tottenham fans
Tottenham full-back Pedro Porro has now addressed the club’s supporters while reflecting on the difficult run of results this season.
Speaking to TNT Sports before the Atletico defeat, the Spaniard acknowledged the frustration among fans, while explaining he understands how hard it is for supporters to watch the team struggle week after week.
Porro also stressed how important the backing from the stands has been for the players and urged supporters to stay behind the team during the final stretch of the campaign.
“I think it’s a hard moment for them. When you see your team lose every week, it is a hard moment for them.
“But I think… I say this because in the last four weeks, I am a Spurs fan because I did not play, as fans it is the same.
“I understand the situation for them. I think they know it is important for us because when I played good games, always the fans support or the away support is very good.
“I say thank you to them because it is good for us. And now the last games in the season we need everything and we need them, we need their support, we need everyone in the dressing room, and this is the point.”
Spurs players call for unity during struggles
The Spaniard is not the only one to have called for togetherness and greater support from the stands, with Yves Bissouma also sending a message of unity to Tottenham supporters before the Crystal Palace clash.
However, while the fans continue to show up, they are often let down by the players, who seem to get outplayed each time they take to the pitch.
When there is no visible fight or resilience on the field, it becomes increasingly difficult for supporters to stay fully behind the team.
