Abortionist Who Worked With Kermit Gosnell Opens New Abortion Biz
Operation Rescue has uncovered an abortion facility quietly operating in Wilmington, Delaware, which is connected to Leroy T. Brinkley, a man who once employed the infamous illegal abortionist and convicted murderer Kermit B. Gosnell.
Prior to his 2011 arrest, Gosnell worked for Brinkley one day per week at the Atlantic Women’s Medical Services in Wilmington, Delaware, where he would sometimes begin abortions on women in the later months of pregnancy, then send them to complete the abortions at his Women’s Medical Society clinic in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Gosnell was later convicted on three counts of First-Degree Murder for “snipping” the spinal cords of late-term babies that had been born alive and were struggling to stay that way. His abortion facility became known as a “House of Horrors” for frightfully incompetent late-term abortions done under unfathomably filthy conditions by unqualified, unlicensed individuals masquerading as “doctors.” At least two women, Shirelle Shaw and Karnamaya Mongar, died during abortions there.

Forced to close
Brinkley was forced to shutter his two Atlantic Women’s Medical Services clinics in Wilmington and Dover in the wake of Gosnell’s arrest after an investigation by the Delaware Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline found gross health violations, which would have resulted in enormous fines had he not closed.
Two of his Delaware abortionists who worked alongside Gosnell, Albert Dworkin and Arturo Apolinario had their medical licenses suspended for observing but not reporting Gosnell’s illegal activity. Dworkin was later cleared of allegations and retired in 2017. Apolinario’s suspension remained in effect until his retirement in 2011. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 80.
After Gosnell’s conviction in 2013, Brinkley’s attorney told The News Journal that Brinkley and his clinics “would not be back” in Delaware.
Apparently, he was mistaken.
Back in business
Fifteen years later, Brinkley, now 86, is back with a new abortion business that appears to have opened in late 2024. That is when Brinkley was listed with the Delaware Secretary of State as the “Registered Agent” for AllGyn Health Partners, Inc., located on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington at the same address as AllGyn, Inc. abortion facility.
According to AllGyn, Inc.’s website, Brinkley’s new business conducts abortions up to 24 weeks of pregnancy. It boasts of being a “proud member” of the National Abortion Federation (NAF). This is quite the irony since it was the NAF that had previously suspended the membership of Brinkley’s Atlantic Women’s Services abortion clinics – but only after embarrassing details of abortion abuses there were reported by the news media.
The National Provider Identifier (NPI) database lists Claudette Anderson, MD, as the facility’s Medical Director. She is known to conduct both surgical and chemical abortions. Also listed as AllGyn Inc.’s Laboratory Director is Aneesh Gupta, MD, who is also known to conduct abortions at AllGyn, Inc.
The leopard’s spots
“Brinkley left a miserable trail of broken women and dead babies across at least two states,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “He has a well-established pattern of behavior, and it is said that a leopard cannot change his spots. We have every reason to believe that under Brinkley’s oversight, AllGyn could have all the problems his other abortion facilities had for years.
Brinkley has a long, documented history of operating substandard abortion clinics which rivaled Gosnell’s in terms of barbarity and squalor. In Louisiana, Brinkley’s Delta Clinic of Baton Rouge was among the worst in the nation.
“The public has a right to know what it means to have a Brinkley-owned abortion facility in their community or state,” said Newman. “The reporting of one woman’s terrifying abortion in Louisiana is a harbinger of what women can expect at AllGyn.”
Louisiana woman details abortion horror
In 1999, television station WAFB9 began broadcasting a series of report based on the hair-raising experience of a woman who suffered severe abortion complications at the Delta Clinic on September 5, 1999, at the hands of Brinkley’s employee Eileen O’Neill.
The woman, known only as “Denise Doe” went to the Delta Clinic with her mother, known as “Jane Doe,” for an abortion that was done by Eileen O’Neill, who later had her own ties to Kermit Gosnell.
O’Neill was a 1996 graduate of Louisiana State University (LSU) Medical School. She was dismissed from the school’s residency program in 1998 due to unstated “inadequacies.” She was operating on a temporary medical license at the time of Denise’s abortion.
Jane told WAFB9 about what happened during her daughter’s abortion.
“She was in there about fifteen minutes and I heard her screaming. Another twenty minutes passed. She was still screaming,” she said.
O’Neill came into the waiting room and told Jane that “something went wrong” and Denise’s abortion could not be completed. O’Neill suggested that Jane drive her daughter to the hospital.
Jane was taken back to see Denise and was shocked by what she saw.
“Her hair was soaking wet,” Jane said. “She was in a lot of pain. There was a huge jug beside her, and it was at least three-quarters full of blood. There was a clear hose full of blood and there was blood on the floor.”
Fixing to die
No ambulance was called. Jane took Denise to the hospital where they learned that despite the internal injuries, her baby was still alive. She was stitched up and sent home. Denise soon returned to the hospital with a uterine infection and toxic shock syndrome. The hospital conducted a “septic” abortion followed by an emergency hysterectomy. She slipped into a coma and was hospitalized for three months.
“It took about three visits for me to realize I was about to lose my daughter,” said Jane, choking back tears. “She was fixing to die and I was hopeless.”
Somehow, Denise survived her ordeal but became housebound and was forced to use a colostomy bag due to her injuries. Jane and Denise sued Brinkley’s clinic. The disposition of that lawsuit is unknown.
However, an investigation sparked by WAFB9’s reporting found horrifically unsanitary conditions at the Delta Clinic, including surgical instruments that were used on multiple patients without being sterilized, rusty dilators, and improperly secured drugs. Records were also found that indicated more botched abortions and post-operative infections.
Thankfully, the Delta Clinic of Baton Rouge, along with all other abortion facilities in Louisiana, was forced to close in 2022 after the Dobbs Supreme Court decision overturned Roe v. Wade.
Later, Brinkley would refer O’Neill to his friend, Kermit Gosnell, who was shorthanded at his West Philadelphia clinic and was looking to hire. O’Neil had allowed her Louisiana temporary medical license to lapse due to what she called “post-traumatic stress.” She never bothered to apply for a new one in Pennsylvania. She was later indicted and arrested with Gosnell. O’Neill was tried alongside him in 2013, and was found guilty of conspiracy, participation in a corrupt organization, and two counts of theft by deception.
Words of warning
“We know what kind of people Brinkley hires. I am concerned for the safety of women who go to AllGyn,” said Newman.
After their traumatic experience at the Delta Clinic, Denise’s mother, Jane, would go to the clinic with a word of warning to mothers whose daughters were considering abortions. That warning is as applicable today as it was in 1999.
“I tell them to kiss them and hug them and tell them that you love them because when they walk in that door, there’s a good chance they might never walk out again.”
