'You Stole the Show' Lyrics: Sienna Spiro Talks Meaning & Confirms It's Not Actually About Herself - Listen Now!
Sienna Spiro is opening up about her song “You Stole the Show” and the meaning behind the track.
The 20-year-old British singer-songwriter still hasn’t released her debut album, but she’s one of the most exciting rising stars on the music scene right now and is leading a headlining U.S. tour at the moment.
Sienna chatted with THR about her standout song “You Stole the Show” and what it’s about.
“Wrap me in your arms again / The adrenaline makes me shiver / Show me that you’re genuine, that I’m safe again / That you came here different / No time to define, but before we get closer / I ask if you love me, and you just shrug your shoulders,” Sienna sings on the chorus.

Sienna confirmed that this is not a true story.
“I’d die if that happened to me,” Sienna told THR. “Well… it has happened to an extent. But this song was all from my imagination. I went on my first-ever mini tour in the U.K. and had this deep fear every night that my ex was in the audience.”
She added, “It’s called ‘You Stole The Show’ because these shows are the only moments I really feel are mine and I’m present and I can be myself. And there’s this fear of him being there that kept taking that away from me, I just kept thinking about him and what I’d want and if he was there.”
In an interview with Genius, Sienna added, “None of this is real. This is all made up. It’s exactly what I imagined when I’d be singing these songs every night about this person. There was a applause from an audience. It was more to this person in my life. I just kept having this like reoccurring image of of him being at the back of the audience and him not staying around to say anything and me, you know, being slightly, you know, honestly pissed off, but also hurt and disappointed that he didn’t.”
