Looking for a colorful new watch for spring? Shinola’s latest Detrola collection delivers exactly that. The Detroit-based brand just introduced three vibrant new versions of its fan-favorite Detrola watch, featuring bold dials, playful rainbow indexes, and sporty rubber straps—all for $495.
For the second edition of Detroit brand’s seasonal art-inspired series, Shinola’s designers took cues from the masters of color theory and modern art for the trio of new pieces. The Aqua Green features an aqua center and comes on a light orange rubber strap. A Deep Olive version offers an olive green center with a light green rubber strap. The Blue model’s dial has a matte velvet blue center and blue rubber strap.

Both the Deep Olive and Blue variants utilize a chapter ring in a lighter complimentary shade, while the Aqua Green version deploys a cream border for contrast. All three present twelve uniquely colored indexes (think rainbow) for each of the twelve hours, to make time telling a fun and playful.
Like the other versions of the Detrola, the 41mm cases are constructed from a stainless steel core co-molded with a polished TR90 resin. Wire lugs (20mm width) keep the quick-release-style straps in place, while a traditional pumpkin crown is used to set the time, and a sapphire crystal caps the dial. Inside, the Detrola is powered by an Argonite 705 movement. The highly durable Swiss-made caliber enables a date complication and is accurate to approximately -10 to +20 seconds per month.
