Trail Smoke Eaters Announce Signing of Wade Gallamore

Trail, British Columbia (March 11, 2026) — The Trail Smoke Eaters are pleased to announce the signing of defenceman Wade Gallamore for the upcoming season.

Gallamore, a Fruitvale, BC product, returns to the West Kootenay after developing at the U18 level with Okanagan Hockey Academy. The 2008-born blueliner has earned recognition for his offensive ability from the back end, highlighted by being named the CSSHL U17 Prep Top Defenceman after posting 39 points in 30 games during the 2024-25 season.

“It’s an honour to be back where everything started,” said Gallamore. “I’ve grown up watching and admiring this team and now to be a part of it is incredible. I’m ready to contribute, work and learn with this team and be back in my hometown.”

Smoke Eaters General Manager and Head Coach Eric Thurston says Gallamore’s development and skating ability make him an exciting addition to the organization.

“Wade is a player we’ve been keeping an eye on for a while and felt it was only a matter of time before he’d be ready for the next level. He brings an offensive punch to his game and is able to evade players with his skating ability. We’re happy with his development and growth at the U18 level, and we look forward to seeing his game translate to our team.
