Shay Mitchell Heads Back to Television, Joins Cast of Upcoming 'Baywatch' Series!

Shay Mitchell is returning to television!!

The 38-year-old Pretty Little Liars and Dollface star has been cast in a series regular role on the upcoming Baywatch series, reports Deadline.

She is just the latest casting announcement as the Fox sequel series heads into production on it’s first season this spring.

Shay will star as Trina, who is a “former lawyer who walked away from a top-tier firm to dedicate herself to lifeguarding full-time. Trina is the sharpest mind on Baywatch. Passionate and dedicated, she tends to follow her heart … even if she often uses her considerable intelligence to second-guess herself.”

The actress joins the ever-growing cast, including recently announced Noah Beck and Brooks Nader.

Here’s a synopsis: The wild child Hobie Buchannon (Stephen Amell) from the original series is now a Baywatch captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father Mitch (originally played by David Hasselhoff). Hobie’s world is turned upside down when Charlie (Jessica Belkin), the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad.
