Joe Hart left ‘heartbroken and flabbergasted’ by Igor Tudor’s ‘Sunday League’ action at Tottenham
Joe Hart and Steve McManaman have questioned Igor Tudor’s handling of Antonin Kinsky during Tottenham’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.
It was a long night for Tottenham Hotspur under the lights in the Champions League at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Spain when they took on Atletico Madrid in their first-leg round-of-16 tie.
Spurs suffered for most of the game, especially in the opening 16 minutes, as Diego Simeone’s men ran riot and put Tottenham to the sword in ruthless fashion.
It was a game filled with errors from both sides, but Tottenham’s proved far more costly as two Antonin Kinsky mistakes and one from Micky van de Ven quickly saw Spurs go three goals down before the 30-minute mark.

For Kinsky, the clash marked his first start since Tottenham’s last Carabao Cup outing back in October of last year.
It was a big call from Igor Tudor to throw the young shot-stopper straight into the thick of such a major European game for Spurs.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Joe Hart and Steve McManaman have now criticised the situation and Tudor’s reaction to Kinsky being substituted following the early errors.
Joe Hart said: “It’s evaporated. It’s such a difficult pass, he gets it all wrong. Left foot onto right foot. Oh my goodness me.
“It broke my heart. He’s had a bad 14 minutes, there’s absolutely no getting away from it. Even the stadium is feeling sorry for him.
“You see Tudor does not even acknowledge his goalie. Does not even acknowledge him. If that’s man management, I’m flabbergasted.”
Steve McManaman added: “That’s man management at its very very worst. There’s a gentleman behind, in black, he goes over and hugs him, two or three players hug him.
“That poor goalkeeper has had a terrible night after being chosen by his own manager, and for his manager not to even acknowledge him, go over and say sorry, do not worry about it, put his arm around him, do something to affect the situation. That is cold as cold can be. Ruthless.”
Hart questions Tudor’s reaction to Tottenham substitution
It was a moment to forget for the Czech international, who looked a shadow of the player who impressed on his debut last season in the Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool.
Joe Hart also criticised Tudor’s handling of the moment during the match. Speaking on the broadcast, the former Man City goalkeeper questioned the Tottenham manager’s reaction to the incident.
He said: “He’s acted like that’s not the 14th minute, and that doesn’t happen at any level, I’m talking Sunday league. This is the Champions League. Yes he’s had a bad moment. Has he done it on purpose? Course he hasn’t. Stand by your team, send a message. No, stands there, pretends it’s not happening, and moves on.”
