Trump and Epstein recreate iconic Titanic moment in new bronze statue
The romantic embrace shared between Jack and Rose on the Titanic’s bow captivated audiences in 1997, showing the deep trust and affection between the pair.
Now, a statue in their likeness has been erected in Washington DC, showing another two people who allegedly had a close relationship.
A bronze statue of Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein embracing in the ‘Titanic Pose’ has been installed on the US Capitol.
Titled ‘King of the World’, Trump is pictured holding Epstein as he spreads his arms out.
The group behind the statue is called the Secret Handshake, and they added a plaque below reading: ‘The tragic love story between Jack and Rose was built on luxurious travel, raucous parties and secret nude sketches.
‘This monument honours the bond between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.’
In January, the group erected a giant ten-foot-tall replica of Trump’s ‘birthday message’ to Epstein.
The replica shows a letter which includes Trump’s signature as well as text inside the outline of a naked woman.
Trump has denied writing the note, which appears to show the outline of a young woman’s body and has worrying messages written on it.
‘We have certain things in common, Jeffrey… a pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret.’
The message appears to show Donald Trump’s signature, along with his name, and sparked furore when it first surfaced last year.
‘As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,’ White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said after it was first reported.
The US President has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes when the pair socialised and any wrongdoing with regard to their previous friendship.
Still, the President’s ties to Epstein have been under intense scrutiny as further Epstein files are released by the Department of Justice.
Last month, one of many representatives being allowed to view the unredacted versions at the Department of Justice headquarters said Trump’s name came up ‘more than a million’ times.
Democrat Jamie Raskin told Axios: ‘Trump’s name… it appears more than a million times. So it’s all over the place.’
In the initial trove of redacted documents released by the DOJ, Trump’s name appeared around 5,300 times.
Raskin’s claims may show that the US leader is mentioned far more than previously realised, though this does not indicate any wrongdoing.
The conflict in Iran has been dubbed by some as ‘Operation Epstein Distraction’, claiming the strikes are intended to distract from the ongoing release of the files.
