Pakistan PM Congratulates Mojtaba Khamenei on Becoming Iran’s Supreme Leader
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed condolences over Ali Khamenei’s death and congratulated Mojtaba Khamenei on becoming Iran’s new Supreme Leader.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sent a letter expressing condolences over the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and congratulating Mojtaba Khamenei on becoming Iran’s new leader.
According to Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office, Sharif said in the letter that relations between Pakistan and Iran are rooted in shared faith, history, culture, and language.
Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining close cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and strengthening bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
He also offered prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity for the people of Iran during what he described as a difficult period for the country.
Mojtaba Khamenei was announced early Monday as the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran following the death of his father.
Ali Khamenei was reportedly killed last week during the first wave of military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against targets inside Iran.
The attacks marked a major escalation in the regional conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, raising fears of a broader war across the Middle East.
