Attending the London Book Fair at Kensington Olympia on Tuesday (March 10), Alice shared that the new movie won’t drop until the second half of the year.
“It won’t be coming out before the book. It was so important to me that the book comes out first, so people can experience the end of the story in the book,” they said, via Gay Times. “The series was the adaptation, not the other way around.”
Late last year, Alice confirmed they were still working on post-production, including “animation, score, and VFX.”
“I’m very nervous and scared about what you’ll think of it… but that’s probably normal!
2026 will be a big year for Heartstopper!!” they said.
In Heartstopper Forever, “After Season 3, the couple is inseparable. But, with Nick (Connor) preparing to leave for university and Charlie (Locke) finding new independence at school, the reality of a long-distance relationship begins to weigh on them. Doubts take hold, and their relationship faces its biggest challenge yet. Meanwhile, Nick and Charlie’s friends are also navigating the ups and downs of love and friendship, confronting the bittersweet challenges of growing up and moving on.”
If you missed it, Joe just won an Emmy for season three!
