The Club have published the latest set of financial accounts – for the year ended June 2025 – ahead of our upcoming AGM which will take place on Thursday 26 March.

Financial Summary

• Overall loss reduced by £1.3m (19% reduction) to £5.84m (2024: £7.17m)

• Record revenue generation totalling £16.8m, showing a 6% increase in turnover (2024: £15.9m)

• Wages/Turnover ratio improved to 74% (2024: 79%)

• Year-on-year operating loss reduced by £2.4m (26% reduction) to £6.8m (2024: £9.2m)

• EBITDA loss reduced by £2.4m (41% reduction) to £3.4m (2024: £5.8m)

• Reduction in staff costs to £12.5m (2024: £12.7m)

• Player trading contribution of £441k (2024: £1.04m)

• Improved closing cash balance of £3.3m (2024: £2.9m)

The 2024/25 campaign saw the Club achieve record turnover for the fifth year in a row, totalling £16.8m, despite not having European football at the beginning of the campaign.

Across the course of the 2024/25 campaign, the Club reported an improved financial performance, reducing our year-on-year operating loss down from £9.2m (2024) to £6.8m. Furthermore, EBITDA loss reduced by 41%, from £5.8m in 2024 to £3.4m, reflecting an improved operational performance.

Staff costs remain broadly similar, with a reduction in total costs, with the Club continuing to commit to being a Living Wage Employer. In addition, the Club’s wage to turnover ratio improved, dropping from 79% to 74%, reflecting improved financial discipline and balance on spend.

The balance sheet remains stable, with net assets of £27.7m and an improved cash position of £3.3m at the year end.

The Club also benefited from the issue of £4.87m of new equity, highlighting the continued commitment of shareholders to support the Club’s long-term strategy and development.

The Club's player trading model generated around £440k, while improvements to Easter Road Stadium, which started at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, were completed. This included the redevelopment of the North Stand, three new hospitality experiences, a permanent home for our Hibernian Community Foundation and several improvements to our accessible seating and disability offering for supporters. There was further investment to upgrade our changing rooms, tunnel area, dugouts and other areas of the Stadium to ensure compliance with UEFA regulations.

Sporting Performance

Sporting performance and improved results on the pitch were key contributors to our record turnover and improved financial accounts.

The 2024/25 season saw the Men’s First Team finish third place in the William Hill Premiership and qualify for the UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds. The campaign included a 17-game unbeaten run – matching our longest-ever run since 1948 – which had a positive commercial impact, through higher attendances at Easter Road, as well as increased match-by-match ticketing sales and hospitality revenue. The Club also benefited from an increase in the UEFA Solidarity distributions which are payable to SPFL Clubs that do not participate in European Group stage football.

It was also a fantastic year on the pitch for our Women’s Team, who won the 2024/25 SPWPL title in historic fashion after beating Rangers 1-0 at Ibrox on the final day of the campaign. That triumph ended an 18-year wait for the league title and earned the team qualification into the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying rounds.

There was further success for our Academy, with Darren McGregor’s U18s winning the CAS Elite Youth League title – ensuring all three of the Men’s, Women’s and U18s team qualified for European football ahead of our 150th Anniversary season.
