Lately, I’ve Been Including This In My Prayer
Finding peace starts with surrendering our worries to the universe and trusting that God’s guidance will meet us in the middle of our uncertainty. Best-selling author of Finding God Every Day, Rebecca Simon, reminds us to trust God’s timing, embrace patience, and lean on His presence through every season of life.
We spend so much time asking God for the things we want, but how often do we ask him to align our hearts with his? You find peace when you finally stop trying to “manifest” a life that God is trying to protect you from.
If you’ve been feeling a tug-of-war in your soul over a relationship, a job, or a dream that just won’t open up — try praying this today.
“If I’m not meant to have it, Lord, please remove the desire from my heart to want it, and help me find peace in its absence.”
Because I don’t want to keep longing for things that can’t lead me where God is taking me. I’m learning that closed doors only hurt when my heart is still trying to open them. What I want now is a spirit so settled in God’s goodness that I no longer feel pulled toward what isn’t meant for me.
If something is not aligned with his plans, I want my attachment to it to soften. I want my desire for it to fade in a way that feels gentle and honest. And if I’ve been holding onto anything out of habit, or hope, I want to be able to release it without resentment. I’m choosing to trust that the peace God gives in the absence of something is just as valuable as the joy he gives in the presence of it.
