Homeless woman kicked in head while sheltering in shop doorway with her dog
Shocking CCTV footage caught the moment a man kicked a homeless woman in the head in a cowardly attack.
The victim, in her 50s, was huddled in a doorway with her dog, Lance, trying to keep them both warm when Aaron Nomicas, 20, launched the unprovoked assault in Salisbury, Wiltshire, on January 3.
Nomicas had to be held back by shocked onlookers when he tried to land further blows after being called a ‘coward’ by the woman.
He was jailed for six months after pleading guilty to ABH at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court last week.
The woman suffered facial injuries in the attack, but they were not considered life-changing.

Police tracked Nomicas down by trawling through the cathedral city’s CCTV footage from that night.
Sergeant Joshua Bliss from Wiltshire Police, said: ‘This was a highly impactful case – the victim is incredibly vulnerable and had no way of protecting herself, or escaping from, this vicious and unprovoked attack.
‘She was sat in Salisbury city centre with her dog, Lance, minding her own business and simply trying to keep warm.
‘The suspect was unknown to the victim, and within only two hours of the investigation commencing, CID detectives and Neighbourhood officers identified and located the offender.
‘In the victim’s account, she describes the offender as a ‘coward’. This is a sentiment shared by those involved in the investigation who saw the CCTV footage showing the attack.
‘This court result should send a clear message – if you are someone who preys on the most vulnerable and defenceless members of our community, we will swiftly track you down and we will bring you to justice.’
