Three new foot-and-mouth cases in Dromolaxia
Three new cases of foot-and-mouth disease were confirmed in Dromolaxia on Monday afternoon, the agriculture ministry reported on Tuesday.
The cases were detected through laboratory testing and are located within the three-kilometre restriction zone in the Dromolaxia area.
Authorities said the new incidents are not unexpected and form part of the disease’s epidemiological progression in the region.
The cases involve one cattle unit and two sheep and goat units.
The ministry clarified that the total of 37 affected units does not include an illegal cattle unit previously identified in Livadia.
