Fabrizio Romano delivers ‘giant clubs’ update on Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic
Fabrizio Romano has revealed what he expects to happen with Luka Vuskovic in the summer as elite clubs around Europe circle over the Tottenham centre-back.
The youngster’s impressive displays on loan at Hamburg have not gone unnoticed by Europe’s heavy hitters this season.
Over recent weeks, reports in the German press have claimed that Bayern Munich are plotting an approach for Vuskovic in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, sources from Spain have suggested that Real Madrid are prepared to go all out for the Spurs defender as they look to inject some young blood into their ageing backline.
Fabrizio Romano expects Luka Vuskovic to return to Tottenham
Just a couple of days ago, Florian Plettenberg revealed that Barcelona have held talks regarding a move for the Tottenham defender ahead of the summer window.
The Sky Sports Germany reporter revealed that HSV are also exploring the possibility of extending Luka Vuskovic’s loan spell at the club.
Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the 18-year-old is on the radars of several top clubs, but he is confident that the centre-back is returning to Tottenham in the summer.
Romano said on his YouTube channel: “I see many questions on Luka Vuskovic. On Vuskovic, I will tell you more next week. At this stage, I can tell you that it is not only Barcelona, but also giant clubs around Europe.
“Remember, he is owned by Tottenham, but all the top clubs in Europe are basically interested in Luka. So, I think it’s going to be a long race, but for sure, there are several clubs following the player. He’s now doing fantastic at Hamburg, and then he’s going back to Tottenham in the summer.”
Relegation could force Spurs’ hand regarding Vuskovic
It has already been reported that clubs from around Europe are circling over Tottenham’s star names as the Lilywhites face the prospect of a summer exodus if they get relegated.
There is no doubt that Vuskovic is one of the players that many will want to raid Spurs for should they fail to secure their Premier League status.
Given the impact that the teenager has made in the Bundesliga this season, one doubts if he would be too keen on playing in the Championship and another loan spell could be the most sensible option.
