Bears' first move in free agency is deal with DT Neville Gallimore: source
The Bears opened free agency Monday by agreeing to a deal with former Colts defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, a source said. He'll join the team on a two-year, $12 million contract when deals can become official Wednesday.
Gallimore, 29, is a solid pass rusher who will be playing his seventh season. The Bears will add him to a group that includes veteran Grady Jarrett and former second-round pick Gervon Dexter. Andrew Billings is a free agent who could return as well.
Gallimore played every game for the Colts last season, starting eight and playing 40.2% of their defensive snaps. He had 38 tackles, three pass breakups and a career-high 3 1/2 sacks. He also played on special teams.
Pro Football Focus ranked him 77th among defensive tackles and 31st at his position as a pass rusher.
He grew up in Canada before playing at Oklahoma and was a third-round pick by the Cowboys in 2020. After four seasons with the Cowboys, he played for the Rams in 2024 and the Colts last season. In 83 career games, he has 147 tackles, 7 1/2 sacks and six pass breakups.
