Two Bangladeshis killed in Iranian strike in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Kharj
Two Bangladeshi nationals were killed after an Iranian airstrike hit the Saudi city of Al-Kharj, with several others wounded, according to officials.
Authorities from the Saudi Civil Defense said two people killed in the Iranian airstrike on the city of Al-Kharj were citizens of Bangladesh working in the area.
A report by Associated Press on Monday said at least 11 other people were injured in the attack, adding that the wounded were also Bangladeshi nationals.
Officials said the strike occurred in the city of Al-Kharj in Saudi Arabia as regional tensions continued to rise amid ongoing military exchanges involving Iran.
Iran has continued strikes targeting locations in Saudi Arabia, while Riyadh has warned that it could respond if the attacks intensify further.
Regional tensions have escalated in recent days following exchanges of strikes between Iran and its regional rivals, raising concerns about wider instability across the Middle East.
Saudi authorities previously warned that any direct attacks on the kingdom’s territory would trigger a response, stressing that the country would defend its security and critical infrastructure.
The latest strike and casualties highlight the growing risks to civilians and foreign workers as the confrontation between regional powers continues to escalate.
