Rams place CB Darious Williams on reserve/retired list
Rams cornerback Darious Williams is calling it a career after eight seasons, as the team announced Saturday it had placed the veteran on the reserve/retired list.
Williams, 32, signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He enjoyed two stints with the Rams from 2018-2021 and 2024-2025, with two years with his hometown Jacksonville Jaguars in between.
He was a starter for the Rams in 2021, including in Super Bowl LVI. He combined for eight tackles and one pass deflection in that 23-20 win over the Bengals as he earned his one Super Bowl ring.
Williams started four games for the Rams in 2025, including the NFC championship game against Seattle. In 14 games including the postseason, he recorded five pass breakups and one interception.
During the playoff run, Williams’ second child was born. With his career coming to a close, he now gets to go home to spend more time with his family of four.
The Rams will save $7.5 million against the cap with Williams retirement, which leaves the team with just Emmanuel Forbes and the recently acquired Trent McDuffie at the cornerback position.
