Alan Shearer offers bleak Tottenham prediction as relegation fears grow
Alan Shearer has revealed what he expects Tottenham Hotspur to do regarding Igor Tudor following the Croatian’s difficult start to life in north London.
The sinking Tottenham Hotspur ship has only continued to sink even after a change of captain following Thomas Frank’s sacking.
New boss Igor Tudor has it all to do, with Spurs now firmly in a relegation battle following a run of three defeats in his first three games.
It is that stage of the season where every point, every defeat and every victory matters, and failure to pick up points while other relegation rivals improve their form could very much spell the end for Tudor, at least according to a Premier League legend.
Alan Shearer questions Igor Tudor’s future
Speaking to Betfair, Alan Shearer warned that Tottenham could even sack Tudor before the end of the season if results continue to deteriorate.
The former Newcastle United striker also raised serious concerns about Spurs’ relegation prospects, insisting their current form and lack of fight could ultimately send them down.
Shearer told Betfair: “I could see Spurs getting rid of Igor Tudor before the end of the season. It would not be a surprise to me with that club.
“I have said all I can on Spurs, there is a real-life possibility that Spurs could be relegated and can you imagine that stadium in the Championship. Somehow, from somewhere, they are going to have to get some unity, because on Thursday, they just looked as if they were done.
“Unless that improves big style, then they are going down, because at least the others, at least Forest went to City and showed some fight. West Ham have dragged all of them back into it.
“It would be one of the biggest Premier League shocks if they were to go down. I mean, what would be bigger, Leicester winning it, or Spurs being relegated? I guess it is on a similar scale.
“It would be a shock to the system. It would, without doubt, be one of the biggest shocks of all time. I suppose, with that training ground, with that stadium. I mean, it is just unthinkable for them. I mean, you can imagine what it would do to them as a football club.”

What was once a seven-point buffer between Tottenham and West Ham United has now been reduced to a single point after three defeats under Tudor.
Speaking again to Betfair, Shearer went further by insisting Spurs would deserve relegation if their current performances continue.
He added: “Tottenham Hotspur are a mess and if they go down, they deserve to go down. Spurs have a big chance of getting relegated now.
“When I saw them against Newcastle, I said that from that night onwards, I thought there was a real prospect of them being relegated, because I just did not see any fight.
“I did not see any desire or any attitude from the Spurs players, particularly in that first half on Thursday, but I think last Thursday encapsulates what they are, they are a mess. I mean, both on and off the pitch.
“You can tell confidence is fragile. I know they have got injuries, but everyone has injuries. And if they go down, they deserve to go down because it has not just happened this season.
“It was last season when they finished, and I mean, we all thought that could not happen again, but it has, so they can only blame themselves.”
