Fubo Just Made a Major Payment Change That Could Cancel Your Subscription

If you pay for Fubo through PayPal, you need to act before April 2, or risk losing access to your subscription entirely.

The popular live TV streaming service announced it will stop accepting PayPal as a payment method starting April 2, 2026. Any subscriber currently billed through PayPal must update their payment information to a direct credit or debit card before their next billing date on or after April 3. Failure to do so could result in service suspension.

Accepted payment methods going forward include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Fubo's existing digital wallet framework also supports CashApp as an alternative option.

How to Update Your Payment Information on Fubo

The process is straightforward. Log into your account via the Fubo website or app, navigate to account settings, and select billing management. From there, you can add or update your card information securely. Fubo says it will also be sending targeted notifications via email and in-app alerts to guide affected subscribers through the transition, with live chat support available for anyone who runs into issues.

Why is Fubo Doing Away With PayPal?

According to the company, dropping PayPal is part of a broader effort to streamline its payment infrastructure. By eliminating third-party intermediaries, Fubo aims to reduce transaction processing times and lower associated fees — with the potential to pass those savings on to subscribers through more competitive pricing down the line. The move also reduces the sharing of financial information with external providers, which the company says improves data privacy.

For Fubo's more than two million active subscribers, missing the deadline means potentially losing access to the platform's full suite of features — including live broadcasts from ESPN, FOX Sports, NBC, and CBS, 4K streaming, unlimited cloud DVR storage, and multi-device viewing.
