The Cast Of 'Outlander' Character Swapped For Us At The Season 8 Premiere
Outlander season 8 is officially here, and as the show comes to a close in its hotly anticipated final season, we asked the cast if they could do it all over again, which character would they want to play?
“I would want to play one of the baddies,” John Bell, who plays Ian Murray, told SheKnows on the red carpet at the season 8 premiere. “Ian’s such a goodie, he’s got such a good moral compass so I want to do something completely opposite. Maybe like Geillis or something,” he added, referencing co-star Lotte Verbeek’s character.
“Baddie Geillis. She’s a baddie in both definitions of the word,” Bell joked.
Sophie Skelton, who fans know as Brianna Randall on the show, wants to character swap with Tobias Menzies so she can play Black Jack, also known as Jonathan Randall. “I think he’d be fun to play,” Skelton added.
Izzy Meikle-Small, who plays Rachel Hunter, chose Caitríona Balfe’s Claire, “She would be fun.”
“But also John’s part’s really fun,” she added. “He gets to do so much cool stuff like I want to do some fighting.”
Outlander’s final season will see Claire and Jamie (Sam Heughan) go on “a heart-wrenching journey” as they return to Fraser’s Ridge after leaving the Revolutionary War and are “met by new arrivals and changes to their community made during their years away,” according to a synopsis for the show. Fraser’s Ridge is now “a thriving settlement,” that has been doing just fine “without the Frasers or their influence now for some time.”
“The Frasers soon learn that leaving the war behind is not as easy as they believed and are soon confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home,” according to the series synopsis, “and more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together.”
New episodes premiere Fridays on Starz.
