“My mom would buy stuff off Facebook Marketplace and after school, I would always go pick it up for her. It was normally stuff for her school she works at and the thing she wanted me to pick up this specific day was a mug,” he explained.
When he arrived at the house, the man didn’t want to be rude so he waited for a moment to say hello, but ended up scaring the woman first.
“I see she’s having a conversation with somebody and I didn’t want to interrupt. I didn’t want to be rude. So I was just standing there waiting for a break in the conversation. I don’t blame her at all for screaming. I’m a tall person who she doesn’t recognize, I’m wearing a weird outfit, this could be a prank for all she knows,” he said. “I still have a weird sense of fashion now, but it was even weirder back in the day. I thought it was cool at the time. That’s what I was into, that’s what I liked.”
The man continued, “As soon as I got home, I told my mom and she thought I was making the story up. But then the lady on the Facebook Marketplace sent her the video and she was like, ‘Oh you’re telling the truth. That was real.’ We had no idea it was going to blow up like it did. As soon as the video went viral, I was like a micro-celebrity in my school for about a week. I had some people compare me to Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons or Carrot Top the comedian. It’s just the hair.”
“I still pick up stuff from the Facebook Marketplace for my mom and I try not to dress as crazy as I used to back then, but I haven’t scared anybody since. I’m just happy I didn’t give her any everlasting trauma,” he concluded.
